Site Neighbors
Site Neighbors was created in 2006 to make sense of the "long tail" coined by Chris Anderson in 2003. Ann & John were sitting at Otto's pub one afternoon (we both studied social networks in grad school), and we came up with this idea and coded it. It is a nifty algorithm that creates neighbors from sites that join. Neighborhoods are based on site commonalities. How those commonalities are determined is the secret! They are dynamic (ever-changing) and can be linked to advertisements, affiliate sites, or any assortment of other linked in information that can be easily programmed to tie with the neighbors.
Site Neighbors (the algorithm) is for sale. The domain name is no longer ours, but the concept can tie in nicely with a blogger-application brand, or any group of sites from which one wishes to create dynamically connected communities. We believe in education and supporting educational organizations. If you are a student or educational organization and would like to own a generic version of the 24-7 Exhibits code complete with documentation, and capacity test results, please contact us.
